 Antonio
(Tony) Lopez, CPA, MST, EA
Antonio Lopez is a founding partner of Lopez,
Chaff, and Wiesman Associates, and has been in public
practice for over 25 years. Tony has extensive experience
in Corporate and LLC taxation - concentrating in the
areas of manufacturing, distribution and wholesale, telecommunications,
as well as high technology and software companies. His
expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, along with
the tax aspects of financial and retirement planning.
Tony is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with
a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and holds a Master of
Science in Taxation from Bentley College. Tony has also received
the Chartered Financial Consultant designation by the American
College. He is professionally associated with the Massachusetts
Society of Certified Public Accountants and Enrolled Agents,
the Massachusetts Association of Public Accountants, along
with the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the
National Society of Tax Professionals. Tony is also a member
and past President of the Lawrence Rotary Club.
William
R. (Bill) Chaff, EA
William Chaff began practicing accounting in 1984, and
then partnered with Tony Lopez in 1986 to create Lopez and
Chaff Associates. Bill specializes in Corporate, Partnership,
and LLC taxation, focusing on service companies, real estate,
environmental services, restaurants, and software firms. Bill
has extensive experience in the preparation and audit representation
of estate and gift taxes. He has worked with local law firms
as their outsourced expert in this area.
Bill is professionally associated with the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents,
the Massachusetts Association of Public Accounting, along with the National Association
of Enrolled Agents and the National Society of Tax Professionals. Bill is a frequent
speaker at local venues on business topics such as managing financial milestones,
small business and cash flow, and home ownership and taxes to groups of new homeowners.
James
E. (Jim) Wiesman, MBA, EA
James Wiesman has worked in accounting for over 35 years, and formed
Wiesman and Associates in 1983. He merged his practice with
Lopez and Chaff Associates in 1989. Jim is an expert in Corporate,
Partnership, and LLC taxation, and specializes in IRS relations
and negotiations. His corporate clientele includes companies
in the manufacturing, realty, retail, and wholesale sectors,
along with high technology and software businesses.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley
College and a Master of Business Administration from New
Hampshire College. He is professionally associated with the
Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents, the National Association
of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Tax Professionals,
and the National Society of Tax Professionals. Jim is also
a member and treasurer of the Andover Rotary Club.
Catherine L. (Cathy) Gable, EA
Catherine Gable has been a member of Lopez, Chaff, and Wiesman Associates for 20 years. Starting out as an accounting clerk, Cathy steadily advanced her career, becoming a Principal of the firm in 1998. Cathy specializes in accounting and tax planning for construction, manufacturing, and communications industries. She also assists clients in establishing their accounting systems through QuickBooks software.
Cathy is a graduate of Northern Essex Community College where she received an Associates Degree in Business Management. She also attended the Accounting Certificate Program at Merrimack College , along with H&R Block Tax School . Cathy attends the yearly UMass Tax School Seminar to keep informed with the latest IRS/MA DOR tax updates.
Rita M. Correia, EA
Rita has 38 years of accounting and tax experience, including 10 years as a Controller/Business Manager in environmental consulting. Rita specializes in Corporate, Partnership, and LLC taxation, focusing on real estate, retail, banking, medical, legal, advertising, and non-profit organizations.
Rita earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley College , and is professionally associated with the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and the National Society of Tax Professionals. For the past 18 years, Rita has been the Treasurer for the town of Derry , New Hampshire along with serving as Second Vice President of the Derry Village Rotary Club.
